Section 32 of the Local Government Reform Act 2014 came into effect on 1 July 2014 by virtue of S.I. No. 146/14 which introduces a number of important changes to the manner in which rates liabilities are to be treated.

The Law Society issued a press release today calling for clarity following the Setanta Insurance collapse. The President of the Law Society of Ireland, John P Shaw, expressed concern at the shock and anxiety among claimants and those holding policies with Setanta Insurance.
