Colm Booth | Partner

Colm is a partner in our Corporate & Commercial Department. He holds an honours law degree (LL.B.) from Trinity College Dublin and, before joining MacSweeney & Company, he trained in and worked with a Big Five law firm in Dublin.
 
His practice is concentrated on corporate transactions and commercial contracts and he has particular experience working with large Irish and international companies in the private sector, as well as advising Irish public bodies.
 
• Key projects and clients he has worked on and with in recent years include;
 
• Allianz GI on the Irish aspects of a €300m bond issuance by Dublin Port Company;
 
• Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. on financing provided in relation to a multi-unit combined heat and power (CHP) plant;
 
• Amarenco Solar on a recent funding round to finance the expansion of the company’s operations in Ireland;
 
• Aughinish Alumina on various corporate and regulatory matters;
 
• Circle K on the construction and corporate aspects of three service stations on the Irish motorway network;
 
• EirGrid on the development and financing of the proposed Celtic Interconnector linking the Irish and French energy networks (estimated value in excess of €1bn); and
 
• Green Investment Group on the sale of a portion of its interest in the Poolbeg incinerator at Dublin Port.
 
Colm has specialist knowledge of the both the Irish energy sector and construction. He has worked on numerous corporate and commercial matters and contentious disputes in the heavily regulated energy sector. He has also negotiated construction contracts on behalf of private and public developers and on behalf of main contractors; where necessary, he assists with disputes (adjudication, mediation, conciliation, arbitration) arising from construction projects.
